I'm a novice and enthusiast. After buying my first digital S1 IS I dicovered an option to add a wide angle, teleophoto or a magnifying macro lens with the aid of an adapter. My question to anybody who can help me; will there be much of a difference in my pictures if I spend the money on the extra lenses as opposed to not investing the money? Another way to ask this question is is it practical to spend the money on lens accessories for a low end camera?...Thanks

Do you find yourself wishing that the camera zoomed in more (wide), out more (telephoto) or focussed closer (macro)? If the answer to that is "hasn't happened, but these look like neat gadgets" or "well, sometime I might want to", wait a while and find out what kind of photos you're most happy taking. Then choose one that'll complement this. If it's "dagnabbit - I'm missing all these neat shots that are too far away, or that I can't get wide enough for", and you like the camera otherwise, then go for it. If you've got other nagging concerns about the S1IS (I'm not suggesting that you should, but they're not for every kind of shooting), you may want to save for something different. (Doc Frankenstein (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/member.php?u=16852) started with an S1, IIRC and quickly moved over to a Digital Rebel).

Thank you very much Jon for your input, very good advise which gives me something to think about. I do intend to upgrade someday so I think I'll go for it and pick a wide angle which is something I missing in my shots and build from there. When the Canon 20D do come my way I'll have a better understanding and appreciation for a higher end camera.
