Hi All,
the first one here really caught my eye, with it's big fluffy white mane looks more like a baboon than a spider:lol:
the second was sunbaking on the next bush along - nice speed striping;)
These were taken with Canon 100/F2.8 and 20mm Kenko ext tube and homemade flash diffuser.
C & C welcome

Nice shots. I have to get me a macro lens! I am probably going to have to settle for the nifty and extension tubes compromise for now...There is always hope for the future though.

Very nice. I like #2 better.
#1 looks like some kind of jumping spider - I've seen similar ones here, and #2 is a lynx spider (Not sure if you already knew the IDs or not). Hard to catch both of them, since I find they usually scurry to the underside of the leaf as you get close.

Thanks - the 100mm macro is great, but I've seen some pretty amazing macro stuff taken with the 50 and tubes. You can also try reversing the lens (using an adaptor) for some serious magnification:D

thanks for the ID's Troy as I'm not very clued up on the named, yeh the first one was definitely jumping and had scurried underneath it's leaf. I encouraged it out with a waggling finger;).
I thought the second might be a Lynx spider as it has the big spikes on it's legs, but this one seemed to have a longer abdomen and racing stripes:confused:
