Well, the contrast is much higher giving it a hard edge... which, IMO can either make or break the photo. In this case, I think it 'could' have worked, but the image is missing something... In any case, did you know you have a dead pixel?

I think the dead pixel is actually fuzz. He is laying on a black fleece blanket. There were spots all over like this I just missed these I guess when I was fixing it.
Lemme know if you decide what it's missing, or feel free to play around with it and let me know what you did!

There really isn't anything wrong per say, the photo just looks static IMO. I would have tried to get more of him in the frame, used the rule of thirds as much as possible. You did a good job getting the picture sharp and contrasty, but like I said, it just lacked that spark. I did a little edit that puts a little 'wow' factor - but it's a little gimmicky for old-salts, hey, but if it works. :)

I'm a fan of both eyes, myself, but not having both eyes doesn't make it a bad photo, it just means we have different tastes. I'm wondering if the line on the left side of his face could somehow have more dimension added to it, that is what seems to be popping out at me...where the fleece meets his face. Hopefully someone who's better at PP than I am can help answer that question.
He sure is a cutie!!
