Here are my first photos for C&C. I tried to insert them, but I'm getting red x's, so here are links.
These are photos at a run down hotel in my little town. The current debate is whether or not to tear it down or restore.
I had to send unedited versions to my teacher, but these have slight adjustments.
Looking forward to your C&C...and maybe a suggestions as to why I couldn't insert them! :o

Wendy - welcome to the forums.
While your images are good (#1is a bit dark) they don't really show enough of a 'hotel' to tell what it looks like. Vignettes of pieces of a large building don't usually tell much of a story.

Perhaps your title is mis-leading. "Old hotel photos" could mean photos of old hotels or it could mean photos of an old hotel. Actually, they are photos of ruin at an old hotel:lol:
As to you images being posted, do a "Go Advanced" so that below the editing window you will see another button a ways down that is labeled "Manage Attachments". Press that and you will get a dialogue box in which you can browse your computer for images to be uploaded to the POTN server and can then do the actual upload. Of course, rigid file size rules will apply, and that is the best reason for hosting your images in other servers, such as pbase.

Thank you for the comments. Perhaps my title was misleading :-) I was so involved in making sure I had the right settings for the light (it was approaching sunset) that I was not really putting effort into telling a story.
Bob...thanks for the advice on posting pictures. I was attempting to wrap [img] around my pictures and was getting the red x.
Thanks again for helping the noob!

To post pbase images, simply add a ".jpg" when bringing in the pbase link into your post. (no quotes). For example, with your first pic you would have linked to:
http://www.pbase.com/wdement/image/103590971.jpg
( .jpg added )
I have not linked a pic from pbase in quite a while, at least since they made the upgrades, but this used to work. And as advised by others, it allows you to link to larger versions.
Welcome to POTN!
