Okay I've had my 10D for almost a year and a half and I still have a blast shooting with it. I'd love to upgrade to the 20D but unfortunately it took my poor 21 year old self long enough to buy the 10d.

Anyway...I just put the bg-ed3 battery grip on my 10D and noticed a wierd switch/lever on the grip of the camera itself. I can't figure out what the heck it does though!

Any info would be great.

Thanks in advance and here a picture of what I'm talking about so I don't sound like a total newb...:D

According to the manual, it's DC coupler cord hole.

That little slide switch (?) on the grip of the camera turns the battery grip controls - the buttons and rotary switch - on and off.

GOTCHYA!!!!

That makes perfect sense. So you can thread the chord through the handle and still have the battery door closed.

Brilliant!:D :D :p

Sounds right to me! There will be one by the battery cover door on the Bg-ED3 too!

Yep....you're right! Just a small tab that you can depress and thread a chord through.

:p :p
