I have been approached by someone to take some photos of their home to be used in the sales listing. I'm not a PRO and have never charge for taking photos. The house is about 10 miles from me and the person offerred to pay but I have no idea what to charge. These will be some simple photos and can probably be taken with a point and shoot, so help me come up with a number. Thanks in advance.

For something like this I'd just figure out how much my time was worth. Depending on you job what does your boss figure as a shop rate. This kind of photography just ain't worth a bundle to people and it ain't art, so just charge what you think is reasonable.

Have you photographed home interiors before? If it's something so simple/basic/they' don't care about quality, why wouldn't they just use their own camera?

If you really can deliver something that they can't do on their own, then I'd just charge $100/hour and give them limited usage of the files.

They don't own a digital camera and that's not a purchased that they feel they can afford to make at this time.
