Sitting in the work truck reading the 20D manual at lunch yesterday. Seagull flops on the hood to see If I had food. Just finished reading about burst settings and white balance - Try Out and Photo Op!

Man I love that first one! What a great expression, composition, and the bird in the background is great. Great capture.

Mind if I process it a little? The overall blueness...

I love the first one! It needs to be a little less blue, though.

First one is great. I won't comment on the blue part ;)

Thanks,

Now I have to learn to use photoshop to adjust color. THe second (junk) shot was to give perspective where the bird was.

Thanks again,
Bill

I played with a bit when I had a few minutes.

I thought it lost a lot of flavor when I removed the blue. Weird.

Same here. But then I tried a couple plugins. Digital ROC Professional did a good job on it (not the newer Kodak version of the plugin, though -- that one made it way too dark. The older version from Applied Science Fiction looks better).

Hmmm... It also made it look like wcstory has some dust on his sensor in the lower left.

that's "cape cod winter blue" gorgeous color that the locals get to live with after the summer tourist season ;)

seriously though I agree it does not look as good with color correction- the blue does lend to it nicely .

Not the blue. It's the eyes. The bird's eyes are much better in the original.

Wow that's quite difference in feel from the blue tint to a greyish. The eyes are the key to me.

Local community college teaches a photoshop course - will be signing up!!

Thanks,
Bill

Now that came out great Alan! Preserved the look in the eyes.

Could you post a quick comment about what you did. Photoshop?

THanks,
Bill

Anyway i'll re-do it again, and jot down what i'm doing.

1.opened in photoshop
2.clicked on image - adjustments - color balance
3.with the 3 sliding bars,i just moved and mixed them around to get a good balance of colour, which was(this could be abit different from the other one i did,but its just an example).Reading in the 3 color levels blocks -
+6 -51 -97.

Thanks Alan.

Every little bit of information helps. Have to remember preschool and red plus blue makes green...... Too many damaged brain cells.

Cool.

Ah! I think yellow and blue make green. red and blue make purple or violet :) :)
