Hi all.
My brother is getting into amateur wedding videography, and we were discussing lighting today. He needs to work something out for future weddings, as a lot are at night, and lighting is less-than-acceptable for videoing.
I know this is not the best place to post this (please move if required), but I am sure the pro wedding shooters here can shed some light (haha, pardon the pun) on the matter.
cheers, Andrew

Generally wedding photographers don't particularly coexist well with videographers who turn on their video lights and blast the ambience into oblivion. While the interaction of the two professional shooters might be OK, ruining the lighting with bright video lights semiperamanently turned on is not conducive to great wedding still photos.

Hi
I sometimes will use a Lowell video light for some of my low light or evening weddings to add creativity. However wouldn't suggest using it for every shot.
A couple of websites that were recommended to me on another feed are:

I am primarily a wedding videographer, and I do not use lights, Period.
There are only a few times where there is not enough light, and that is usually toward the end of the reception.
If you really want lights, I would set up a stationary light for certain events (like the cake cutting) with a softbox or something. I would NOT use on-camera lights.
