So, I'm about a month behind ... not too shabby considering everything I'm doing. Here's John, a very energetic concert of which I was allowed three songs.

Very nice Dwight, #3 looks like he is going to blow a gasket. lol Liking the reds and greens is fine when they have enough white to give the shot some clarity, as is, in your case. Other wise they are the devil along with blue!! :-)

#7 for me.
#8 would have been nice to have a bit more space at the right.
#4 is nice, but I think I'd crop off the entire guitar.
Timing in #3 is nice, expression is nice, background isn't ;)

Yes, on #8 it was a choice between that posted and this one which is better cropped but blurrier:

Dwight...very nice.
I posted some pics (Kelly Pickler) that I took last night....and this was my first real concert that wasn't during the day.
I would love to hear your thoughts and how you shoot. I finally had to go to spot meter mode to even get decent exposures.....it was fun though.

Jon, I'm in the middle of shooting MMA fights. Could you also put a link in here?

Excellent work Dwight, as usual! I take it the lighting guy has a thing for primary colors?:D

Generally it is the talent's people who decide on the lighting palette ... ever notice how all the concerts on a particular tour look very similar? Unfortunately, some of the LD's are as color deaf as I am music deaf. :-)

I'd take content / image over sharpness any day ;)
This one's better IMO.

I thank you. Lots of these "older" performers have taken long hiatuses and returned to see how much drawing power they have. John drew a great crowd but Randy Owen (Alabama lead vocalist) didn't even though we are a very Country Music area.

Well, the loss of content in the original was so mild that I decided on clarity but I certainly agree with you in general.
BTW, now that I am getting ready to transfer the world to my new computer, my old one is having more and more failures, so I am currently struggling to get the last of the images on it (saved in two separate RAID arrays) copied to my backup machine (another RAID array) and then external storage. When images are all safe I will start reinstalling and configuring software on the new box (a little is done) and the long painful process of getting all settings, options, etc., compiled into browser, mail and image applications. At the moment I am able to keep my sense of humor but it is wearing a bit thin! :-)

One and seven are my choices... While the image in post #5 is also one I like...
I, prefer to see some teeth in the typical face shots... That's why I didn't include a few of these in my choice of the better ones... Overall, a strong set as usual... Cheers.
