I use pre-packaged glasses/lens cleaners that are individually packaged but come in a box containing many. There are several brands available, but I currently am using Bausch & Lomb "Sight Savers".

I use similar cleaners for my scanner glass as Jim
am just wondering how to remove the glass temporarily when some dust shows on the underside of it

I've never done that, but if you're mechanically inclined you could probably figure out how to take it apart (carefully!) Might be a better idea to take somewhere to have it professionally done if you're hesitant to do it yourself.

That is what I did Jim, take it apart. Cleaned it with normal soap and water and dried with paper towel. To remove lint a tack cloth works best. Just be sure to use a light one and don't use pressure when you wipe. Just dust with it. Available in automotive paint supply shops.

howdy
I have a Canoscan D2400U flatbed scanner. The inside of the glass has that fog crap on it. Has anyone ever tried getting inside this scanner to clean inside glass?
thanks.

I can't believe I asked that question now anyway
my head was thinking there may be an easier way,
other then try to remove the lid, as I am afraid of things 'crashing',
but , its obvious,
looks like the lid has to come off !
just chatting to myself about things
thanks
