im doing product shots that are mainly grocery items
cans of tomatos
toothpaste
can of coconut milk
eggs
boxes of foil
hotdogs
frozen mixed vegetables
frozen corn
huge peice of meat
ive done all the dry stuff and hotdogs
but im wondering if i should keep the "frozen" look on the veggies in the bag
or do i thaw it out so that its all dry and then shoot it?
same goes with the huge peice of meat
im doing the meat last coz i know its going to ruin my seamless background and floor

Get some dry ice to create "frozen" look if you need to.Frozen is pretty hard but I can think of cool bg, maybe some snow or frost?

i dont think id be going that far into it
just plain white background for this project
interesting idea tho
theres ice particles al over the corn and veggies
should i thaw it out before i shoot it or shoot it with the icicles?

If you are going for the frozen look, maybe try some with icicles to see how it works out, maybe some with water droplets whilst thawing?

awesome
water droplets sounds like a good idea
i guess ill wipe it all down and do it dry in the end
its 1:30 in the morning and my creative mode is already asleep

im having problems with the plastic bag fogging up while it sits
and the plastic bag hotspots from the lights aint helping either
also the bags of veggies has to lay flat
if i make it sit...all the veggies go towards the bottom of the bag making the upper half of the bag empty
pffft!

You are going to have to thaw it out so as not to get hot spots or fogging.

Yeah, I was thinking why does the bag actually have to be frozen? Maybe thaw it out like Lunajen was suggesting and use some of that stuff that is used during the Christmas time, like the fake snow flakes. I don't know how realistic that spray thing would look but I just think that you might have more control of your product if it ain't frozen.
If all else fails, get yourself a huge freezer and take the pictures in there :)

Theres an idea for a shot - like phsv suggested ^^^ If you have a top mounted freezer on your fridge , clear it out (wife may not be too happy though), and place the corn (is it cob or bag) on the shelf with a bit more dry ice underneath to give a really cold effect (the steam/smoke from the dry ice will cascade over the front of the freezer)

i guess im gonna have to thaw it out
theres no place here thats cold enough as the freezer to shoot in
one more question
since the bag or veggies are just laying flat....and im shooting it almost facing right down at it with a slight angle....should i shoot the bag upside down so i get the opposite angle?
when looking at the pic...my angle looks like from the ground up
if i shoot upsdie down and adjust my lights...i can kinda get the effect of looking at the bag from above
does that make sense?
