Hey!
I need to know if anyone has ordered the Canon EOS 20 D (WITH the lens, not just the camera body) from zipzoomfly.com before? We are ordering it today, but I wanted to double check that accesories come with it such as one battery, charger, neckstrap, etc?
We tried calling them to ask, but they didn't have connections with their shipping department (or whatever department it was I cant remember as I didn't make the call).
This is incredibly urgent, so I thank you VERY much for your time and answers! ;)
(by the way, I'm very sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I'm new and don't know where to post it and dont have time to look around)

They couldn't talk to their own shipping department to answer the question? mmm... that's not a good sign to me. (IMHO...)

Well, it wasnt exactly like that. Sorry as I said I didnt make the call so I cant figure out exactly how they said it or what department it was in, but supposedly it's like a whole different building or something I dunno. :p
But yes, they are a very good, reputable place to buy. I know 2 people who has ordered a TON of things from them and both are extremely pleased so I know they are an absolutely great place, but my question is still to be asked. Do they come with accessories? :(

Unfortunately, I can't answer that specific question, but given their respectable reputation, I would venture to say that they include everything that comes in the standard kit box - batteries, charger, camera, lens, strap, manual, etc. I don't think they'd get good reviews if they were breaking open Canon's packaging.

Normally, a 20D camera comes with a neck strap, battery, charger and interconnect cables to attach it to a computer. There should also be software included to read the photos from the camera and process them. I do believe the camera comes with a compact flash card (at least mine did not) and this you must order to use the camera but they are inexpensive.

The 20D comes Sans CF card!

Dchemist has given you the right answer as to what should be included.
I don't think you have to worry about these people. They look pretty good at ResellerRatings. Remember, if they weren't going to include any of those items, they would have tried to get you to buy them. That would be the only reason for them to pull them out of the box in the first place, and thatis a common tactic among some of the more disreputable dealers.

I've ordered from these people several times and have never had a problem. While I didn't order my 20D from there, I am sure you will get all the standard equip that normally comes with it.

I'll admit that I haven't read this whole thread, but for us hardcore PCers, zipzoomfly ranks right up there with newegg. I'd say go for it.

Now there's a recommendation I can understand. :) 8.75% tax in CA is a bummer though. One reason to like B&H and such is the lack of tax.

I too have bought from them and have received my order quickly with no problems. All small ticket purchases though. I.m sure they would be as efficient with big ticket items too. Go for it!

the 20D 18-55 bundle comes as a standard kit with charger, lots of s/w, neck strap, viewfinder cover, USB and Video cables, manuals etc
no storage card, but I guess storage is a matter of personal opinion anyway.
If they are selling the "official 20D 18-55 kit" you should be up and running as soon as you decide what CF card to stick in the camera.
Happy snapping!

Actually this is not that uncommon with a Business-to-Business-to-Consumer setup. It just means that they don't have their own warehouse but are rather a reseller from a common warehouse. A lot of online businesses are setup this way. Even a lot of things you purchase from Amazon are not actually shipped or stocked by Amazon themselves.

Don't worry about Zipzoomfly.com. I have been buying regularly for years--well before they canged their name from googlegear.com and they are an excellent outfit. They are, I am sure, very busy as they do a huge business. I had a failure once and sent an email requesting RMA and there was no problem. For about 7 years of experience with them, they have never let me down.

Dan

If you can't trust zipzoomfly then you can't trust any online store ^_^

Oh and anything, you should ask questions about companies before you place the order, not afterwards. ^_^
