Hi.

I'm flying over to photograph a weddng over in Morocco next month. The venue is 'La Pause' http://www.lapause-marrakech.com/ which is a man-made oasis out in the desert 30 miles outside of Marrakech.

Having never photographed a wedding in these, likely to be, sandy conditions can anyone give advice and any specialist equipment that may be needed.

Secondly the wedding starts in the evening with the couple arriving by camel. There is no mains electricty at the venue only a generator however most of the lighting is supplied by candles, flame torches and fires.

I want to really capture the spirit of the Moroccan wedding so can anyone suggest any other photographers websites that it may be worth viewing to get ideas on a Moroccan style?

Thanks

Jeff

It may not help regarding the Moroccan part, but it will absolutely help with lighting at night in very dark venues, check out flashflavor.com

I don't think it will be so sandy that you need to worry about special equipment for that - I was just in Marrakech this summer.

You'll want to master your flash with ambient light. Check out the strobist website as well. That's what's going to get you exceptional pictures. Wide primes will help, too.

Davisoff, thanks for the flashflavor.com details, there are some wonderful images on there and it makes intersting reading. Also thanks for the Strobist details.

I'm taken with me my Lowell video light so that's going to help I'm sure.
