I see so many people are posting pictures of photoshoots they do. Or friends and family. Are you getting authorization to use the photos as you choose? Clearly the photos posted aren't for promotional purposes...but just to share what you've done. I've only shared pictures of my kids and was just curious as I'm starting to venture into the business aspect of photography. I know you have them sign a waver right? Does everyone do that for photos you are sharing?

A lot of it is dependant on the laws in the country the member is from, and thier relationship with the subject in the photos.
POTN leaves that up to the photographer to get right, but we can pull photos if needed, for example breach of copyright material.
I do share photos of friends and family, and also of the very few models shoots I have done, but I do so knowing I can.

If it is commercial work then the contract should specify what you can or cannot do.

and therein lies the difference between clients and models...
clients get to choose, while models get paid :P
