Hi all,
I have been reviewing the forum for several days now, trying to get a better handle on my new Canon 20D. I have been into photography more or less for fun and family pictures, and enjoy taking pictures of just anything eye catching. I am still learning all the features in the new camera and basically learning the fundamentals of photography. My wife and I travel a lot and I enjoy taking photos of all the great scenary in other areas, so I am trying basically to get into the hobby of photography more than just point and shoot and family pictures. Just wanted to introduce myself and say that from viewing the forums the last few days I have gained some great insight on the 20d and hope to be learning more as the years go by.

Hokiefan,

welcome to the forum :D

You've come exactly to the right place!
Just hang around, get the feel of it and don't be shy to ask questions.
The worst that can happen to you is that people will seduce you to spend lots of your hard earned money on prime Japanese optics

Best regards,
Andy

Welcome to the site. If you stick around you'll learn more in a month than you otherwise would in a year, IMHO. There are some very knowledgable and experienced people who are always willing to give their advice, i've learned so much in the last few months, it's great :)

Thanks all, I have already taken in some good information just by searching and reading. I haven't used an true SLR in over 6 years and even then I wasn't all that great with it, but now taken on truly taking my time and learning all the functions of this camera, constantly going through the manul and trying different settings.
