cleaning

i use an EOS D60 and was wondering if anyone out there with a dslr could give me any guidance on cleaning the focusing screen and mirror. One site i have looked at said the mirror should not be cleaned but i would like to remove two marks from the pentaprism, will cleaning solutions damage the focusing points tghat is on the screen or not ,help will be greatly appreciated ,:D thanks stu

Everytime i have tried to clean my focus screen it has just made it worse, I have decided (from my EOS30 on) that I wouldn't touch it, might use a blower (not compressed air) but that is aout it. I now have the same level of caution for the mirror.

Remember it doesn't actually affect the image quality, clean is just nice to look at!

I agree, try a small blower, but try not to touch it - it looks very delicate to me.
