How to take a picture of a human eye? Without damage to the cornea
And without a trip to the morgue  Hehe :D
With an EOS camera... some sort of macro lens...
It'd have to be stepped down to f/11 or f/16 for decent DOF, right?
But the amount of light needed for that shot would probably damage the eye...
How do we to it?

Do you mean like this one (http://www.mrwild.co.nz/PhotoGallery/2004/Christmas/slides/IMG_3847.html) and the few after it? Or this one (http://www.mrwild.co.nz/PhotoGallery/2005/AsianSwimTeamFundraiser/slides/IMG_5242.html)? I have others that aren't on the net that make the eye lashes look like tree trunks - but the DOF is quite narrow.
I just pointed the Canon 100mm macro at the eye and pushed the button. I used the 550EX flash once, people don't seem to like that much, but it didn't do any damage. Natural light seems best.

Here is a photo I took with my 10D, 50mm F1.4, extension tube and flash.
Be patient, it is a big file.

If u limit ur shots then using the flash shouldnt do any damage if the person has regular eyes. I suggest staying away from people with sensitive or easily irritated eyes. I have done a few macro shots in the past with a 550ex and 420ex and i took only a couple of shots as i didnt want to subject my friend to so much light lol. He said it wasnt comfortable to have a full flash blast in the eyes but he said no damage occured from it. Proceed with caution :P
