This is a nice out of the way spot on an island in the Mississippi. The water is one of many channels that flow around the island, which is a couple miles long and a mile wide, more or less. It's quite popular, but never crowded. I generally go here to shoot birds.

Thanks Avi, I actually went more radical on these two and was lucky not to get halos showing up. Must be cause of no clouds in the sky. :)

I love #1. Reminds me of when I had time to go fishing in my pond in the early mornings.

Thanks Charles. This is one of my favorite spots on the Island. It is right near where you come in, and never any people there that I have seen. There is a dirt boat ramp in #1, but you can't really see it. A few boaters put in there and go off right away to other parts of the river. One of the advantages of living in a small town I guess. :)

Beautiful shots, I like the first one as well, but both are great, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jeremy. These are a little more HDR than I usually make, but I wanted the colors to pop and show the day here, which is very warm, clear and humid. Very unusual for here at this time of year. :)

Normally vegetation doesn't look so good in HDR but I like these. Also reminds me of my first try for catfish at Natchez,MI

I've said the same thing many times. Green vegitation just doesn't come through well. There is plenty of catfish and bass in these waters. Big ones. :)

Thanks Bill. Yes, that is fog, just about burned off at this point. And I'm quite surprised at how good these turned out with all the green in them. I was also down there to shoot birds, and found a whole flock of little warblers, and then some Cedar Waxwings showed up with their juvies in tow. I have a thread in Birds to show the warblers, and will maybe post the Waxwings today. :)
