I am planning a short trip to the Southern Utah area in early October.
I will be staying at Springdale, UT for a few days where I plan to shoot Zion National Park and surrounding areas.
I will then stay at Panguitch, UT for a few days and plan to shoot Bryce Canyon, Brian Head, Yankee Meadows (I just love that area) and Cedar Breaks.
I will then spend a night at Cedar City, UT because I want to shoot the Kolob Canyon area of Zion national Park.
From there it will be on to Las Vegas, stopping for a night and then home to San Diego County, CA.
Can anyone think of any areas I have missed that are somewhat convenient to the loactions in which I am staying (motorhome and tow vehicle).
I will be carrying three cameras (30D, 40D and Canon D60 set up for full-time infrared). I plan to take my12-24mm Tokina, 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens, 70-200mm f/4 Tokina, 300mm f/4L IS lens, 1.4x TC and I will probably take my 24-70L (which I normally use primarily for studio work) since my 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens, being EFS, will not fit on the D60. I will take CPL filters, a ND filter and a GND along with two tripods: my primary Giottos MH-8180 with MH-1300 head and a SLIK 330 Pro which I have modified by switching to the shorter center column to save weight and using the MH-1300 Giottos head. This small tripod and head is relatively sturdy and weighs only 3.7 pounds; making it a good "boonie tromping" camera support. As always, I will take my 550EX and 420EX flash units along with remote releases for the cameras.
One nice thing about a motorhome trip is that I am not constrained about taking gear. Additionally, does anyone have any suggestions as to equipment.
