hello, i'm getting a digital rebel. i'm buying just the body for $410. i'm thinking that it dosen't come with with a battery. so this is what i was thinking of getting for it. here is the link for it:

http://www.amphotoworld.com/product.asp?id=cneos300d&l=DigitalSaver&ds_ref_key=IIGJJIODOBAGHA

there is an ebay store that gives you two batteries for pretty darn cheap. the link is:

i was also thinking of getting the following tamron 2 lens package. i was hoping to find something like the original one that comes with the camera. but i figured since these are macro that i can still get up close pictures and also shoot normal distance ones. here is the site for these:

any help that you guys could give me it would be great. thanks so much!!!

If you buy the camera new it should come with a battery... only if it's 2nd hand it might not. Those are the right sort of batteries, but they seem too cheap... I buy from http://sterlingtek.com for $12 each, and they're good batteries.

Those lenses will be fine starter lenses, but I personally would avoid them and get higher quality ones to start with. With lenses you often, though not always, get what you pay for. If you tell us what kind of photography you're interested in we might be able to suggest alternatives. The Canon 50mm F1.8 is a great starter lens, and it's only about $70 new.

You can find extensive lens reviews here (http://www.photographyreview.com/Lenses/PSC_3787crx.aspx).

Hope that helps.

Stay away from amphotoworld.
See this: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1988.html

Buy from a reputable dealer. Check out www.dealsea.com. I got my DRebel from Dell and found coupons on dealsea.com for an additional $70 off... Then there's www.adorama.com , www.bhphotovideo.com , www.cordcamera.com , www.ritzcamera.com , www.wolfcamers.com

wow, well i guess i'm not buying from those sites... i was looking at expresscameras.com also and they have a horrible review also. thanks for the heads up.

as for the photography i'm into, pretty much just modeling stuff. i don't think too much of it will be far away. i'm just getting into it so i'm not sure what to look for. my cousin has the non digi rebel and has a few extra lens. she's new at it so that's why i figured i would look in here. i'm a model myself so i'm looking into the other side of things lol. i edit my own pictures as it is cause i am haveing them taken by a non pro. so i just figured i'd let my cous take them and i could edit them and they'd be mine to do what i want with... not copyrighted by somebody else. thanks again for the input!!!

i was looking at those other sites and they're just so much more money. i'm tempted to order the body from that other site with the bad rating lol...

Check out this thread: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=57370

Unless you want to buy a $400 battery, $300 CF card and $200 camera bag, they probably won't sell it to you anyway.

lol, yeah, i red the reviews to a bunch of companies. funny thing is, like you said, they won't sell it to you anyway unless you buy rediculously priced extras. i've changed my mind on those lol. now i'm thinking that if i'm going to spend that much more money i might as well just buy the 20d.

Good call, I bought the 300D then 5 months later sold it and got a 20D. Saves money in the long run to go straight to what you want.

lol you seem to be lol typing lol a little more than necessary. lol.

As the previous post was in no way humerous how come it rated two lols? Hopefully your just a very happy person and the slightest thing gets you going.
