I was looking at an old album of shots that I took in college over 20 years ago (Michigan State U - Go Spartans!)
I was really into photography then and had an old Pentax MX - fully manual with a 75-300 zoom. I had the camera for about six months, but then damaged it during a trip to Mexico when a bottle of Kahlua broke and splash it - gumming up the works! I never replaced it and have recently just caught the photographic bug again.
Anyway, I took some pics of these old pics with my S1 - hand held, then cropped and processed the images to make them somewhat presentable. Forgive the quality as they are pictures of pictures! (I don't have a scanner!)
The first pic was a gal from Alaska named Lisa - I loved the mood of this image. the photo doesn't do her justice - she was a knockout - but loved the way her hair fell over the edge of the bunk.
The second was a gal named Amy - now I can see image a bit blown out on right, but she just had this "take my picture" quality - very confortable in front of the camera...

Sorry, but I find both poor. The first one's out of focus and doesn't have a clear main subject. The 2nd just seems boring to me. Keep trying :)

Hey Tim, thanks for the comments - The first shot being out of focus was a result of a hand held pic of the original photo at 1/8th second - the original was quite in focus. As for a clear main subject - seems pretty clear to me that the young lady illuminated in the center is it! As for #2 fair enough - I guess nostalgia creates more interest for me, but I still feel the original captures the essence of a lovely young (albeit not any more!) girl....

Just sharing some old 35mm memories...
