when I went on Holiday to Dublin, really looked naff and typical holiday photos.

How do I learn some new techniques?

What types of techniques are you looking for? In camera? Post processing? There are some good books to get started with. Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure" does pretty well with some of the basic techniques.

The Joy of phoography, though old, still has a lot of good stuff in it.

So take a trip to your local library and peruse the photography section and check out a book or two. It's a great place to get started and you can go from there.

I am mainly looking for photos that are looking at for e.g. a city or town at a different angle. The ones I have taken recently, looks so yesterday, ones that have been taken time after time etc...

I just want to look and take photos at different point of view

Thanks for Byran's Book, looks like the thing I am after (You can preview the book on amazon)

I am, but I don't feel I am getting enough out of them, not to say they are not any good, because they are imo, alot better than me, perhaps I feel to shy to show my camera equipment

I... perhaps I feel to shy to show my camera equipment Ya gotta get over that. I've actually found that photographers love to talk gear and technique. Just look at this place. Photography is definitly the type of art that requires exchange between practitioners. You learn from them and they will learn from you. It's never ending.

Well its the tamron lens that actually makes me kinda weird, it does a good job, but, I don't see many people have heard of them or use them

The worst thing you can do is get into the gear race to try and better your photography. There will always be someone with better and more expensive gear and it does not help you get better pictures.

That is what I am trying to avoid, but I do think it needs a bit more punch in them
