I am moving to Japan in a few month and I am wondering if anyone knows the scoop on the photography business in Japan.
Here in New York I was able to set up shop in wedding photography by just putting up a site and advertising. I heard in Japan you have to be connected to a Hotel/Wedding Hall and work on a contract basis with them.
I also heard that Japanese are not very interested in portraits and also the models/actors/performers get their headshots from the agency photographer.
Seems like there is little room for a low cost start-up like I did in New York.
What do you guy think?
