:o What are some poses that a 9 or 10 year old girl can do that don't look provacative or "mature"? My neighbor wants me to shoot her daughter. The kid has had a bit of modeling experience. Every time I take pictures of her she goes into gyrations that make me a little uncomfortable. Some of these movements and poses would make a pole dancer proud. She is innocent but believes this is how models act. Her mom is with her the whole time. Our next seesion will be indoors using a couple of strobes and a black or white background. How come little girls can't act like little girls until they are big girls? Any tips?

Thanks.

Pose her blowing bubbles, or blowing against a pinwheel. Toys like that always bring out the little girl in her.

what does she and her mum want out of it. At 9/10 she is very much beyond the child pose stage but I would have thought she will want the pictures to capture that innocence.

a while back that I thought captured that sort of age quite well. I told her we needed to shoot a few shots to get the levels right so dont start posing yet, just sit down and look at the camera. I kept talking to her mum and her all the while and she relaxed really well.
