In looking through the archives http://www.worldpressphoto.com/index.php?option=com_photogallery&task=blogsection&id=15&Itemid=115&bandwidth=high I find it quite sad that virtually every Press Photo of the year deals with tradgedy, disaster or heart-break. Very moving images.

I agree with u elk but when people judge these photo's, tragedy, and in particular, international or national tragedy everyone can associate with such events, so i guess it gives u the advantage knowing something sad or tragic will have more impact.

Did you check out those northern lights? Wow. I like the one of the swimmer leaving his legs behind. Great shot.
