Ran up to my local Camera Gallery, got to try out some of the lenses ive wanted and have decided on the 11-16 over the 10-17, I feel its plenty wide.
While I was there I grabbed the good 'ol 50 f.18 and had some fun with it today.

Probably my favorite here, I wish I wouldve used a lower DOF but I was making sure Chris was in focus.

He was supposed to be closer to the garage door, with the board in the shadow. Going for the shadow here though.

Kindof an experiment. It was hard to see what all id get in frame with my hat hitting the viewfinder. I was tired resting at my door taking shots over the little garden.

I didnt take many today. The ones posted are my main shots. I have a few others but ive yet to upload them.

Anyone else extremely satisfied with their nifty fifty for the ~100 dollars? They oughtta sell kits with these in my opinion!

#4 is a really good shot. It has good composition, good lighting, good stop-action, good color and excellent interest.

Congratulations!

I bumped the saturation on it a bit while trying to keep it understandable.
Thankyou. Pretty happy with this lens for the price, no question. Cant wait til I get my 11-16 now!

The one that really caught my attention was the shadow on the door shot. But the background is really cluttered with the brickwork and the neighbor's electrical panels, and the extra board.

The idea is great and even if you didn't capture the one you wanted, what you did get was interesting to me.

Go find a good background. The side of a stucco building would be great. It needs some texture. Not too clean, you don't want it to look like a studio shot. Shoot as many as your friend will stand for. make sure that there is nothing in the shot to detract from the shot.

Goodluck.

Sounds like itd make a good shot. I do like the shot, I understand it is busy. I didnt have anything to work with but my frontyard of my house. He eventually hurt his foot and we went back inside.

Those are pretty nifty, and impressive. #4 is definitely a winner in my book.

No4 for me too, just the angle fails it slightly as already mentioned. From a more straight on angle with the shadow would be a great shot.
Looks like your friends car needs some time in the body shop.

Funny story, his parents did all the damage to his car! Parents usually get on their kids about it. Reverse situation. Thought that was funny.
I want to do the same thing again but with a bigger wall. Next time I go skating ill surely have more.
