looking at goingt to Duxford next weekend and wondered what other setting people use apart from shutter speed, ISO and Aperture.
What AF Mode would you use, One Shot, AI Focus or AI Servo?
What AF point selection, centre or all?
What metering mode?
any other recomendations?
title should have been 'Settings for an airshow'
thanks

AI Servo? Yes. What AF point selection AF Point selection for sports (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112654) What metering mode? M:
For a good starting point, first set the f-stop & shutter speed you need for the effect you want. Then the other parameter: f-stop or shutter speed. Then adjust the ISO.
Need an exposure crutch? (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89123)
Why? This shows how the subject can affect the exposure & why manual keeps me worry free:

Frank knows more than I ever will, but I personally will use Tv (shutter priority) for air shows (all two of them I have ever been to).
For propeller aircraft, I set the SS up to 1/500th in some cases
For helicopters, I set the SS up to 1/250th (Was too fast in some cases so be flexible)
For jets you don't have to worry about freezing the prop, so go all out and use as fast as you can get.
Just my two cents, but it is what I have used in the past.

Hey the weather did break eventually and a good day was had though the patrouille weren't able to do anything other than a flypast but it did end with a Spitfire and P51 Mustang. It was fun as well as commentators didn't know what was coming next so planes just appeared made it more interesting.
