Bought myself a Lightscribe drive from Overclockers, but it was an OEM so I didn't get anything like software or manual with it. So, I downloaded a piece of software from the Lightscribe site that will 'enable' lightscribing (is that a word!?) but it isn't the software to actually create CD labels.
What software do you use? There's quite a few out there.
What I basically want to do is create an image in Photoshop, and then import it into the software, align it, and then burn it... rather than use preset templates.

I use Sonic, there are a lot of programs that will work. I also use this software from HP, although they state its only for Notebook computers I run it on my home built desktop PC.

What kind of PC do you have, what OS and what burning software do you own now?

I use Nero cover designer.
It is important to note that you need to download the lightscribe software from: http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/
In order to actually make use of it all with an OEM drive.
What Nero then provides you with is a "template" which is really just a size and outline of the printable areas of the disk. and you can import images, align them or add text as you see fit.
Something else, I often run two passes on the label to get a bit better contrast, so when you run your first disc, and it comes out dull, don't get discouraged, put it back in and print again.
