I just got my 20D back from Canon...had to have a large piece of dust removed from my viewfinder (now its worse, there are 4 pieces) and got it cleaned (the sensor) as it had some sensor snot on it (now its worse also!!)

My question is can you guys look into your view finder and see if its PERFECTLY clear or is there a few (or even one) little faint "dust" marks (very faint but visible).

I am wondering if I am slitting hairs and a little bit is normal or should I send it back AGIAN??

Help!

Thanks.

Joel

Oh ya I forgot to say that you can see the dust in the viewfinder if you look up to the blue sky with it.

I hear that dust in the viewfinder is a very common thing for SLR's in general. It just happens. As far as the sensor goes...that I don't know about. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Dust in the viewfinder is no big thing. I am surprised that you sent it in. Both SLR's I have have dust or something in the viewfinder, always have and probably always will. It isn't visable in any images so I never worried about it.

Ok cool thanks, I am so frigging anal bout these things, guess I will let it go. Pisser however, now I see them every time I look in viewfinder. I should be getting my copper hills cleaning pec pads and sol. for the sensor soon so I will reverse what they screwed up. the cloning tool works nice in the mean time.

IF ur censor is dirty, send it in, especially if u just got it back because it shows that they didnt do a thorough job. As for the viewfinder, it is indeed a common thing, it happens to me all the time. If it gets very bad then send it in but since it doesnt not affect the actual picture, dont worry about it until it abstructs ur view. If ur nit picky and can wait for them to clean/send it back, then go for it, but im sure if ur into photography as much of us are, then u dont want to be sending it in every other week just for some small pieces of dust....cuz ur missing out on lots of photo oppertunities :p
