Hello,

I'd like to make a shot of three beams of light from small flashlights that are converging on one spot. The light is blue.

How can I do this so that the light beams show?

Thanks.

talcum powder... or a steaming hot shower :)

you basically need particles of some kind in the air, for the light to bounce off of. Dry ice or smoke machines are great if the budget is there, otherwise an assistant to slap a sponge full of talc is cheap. (if your lens breathes a lot, keep it out of the talc!)

Smoke or fog will work. I used sage for one of my shoots; depending on the scale of these beams of light sage should work fine and is cheap.

Thanks guys for your great suggestions.

Does anyone else have ideas about this?

Any kind of smoke will work. Tire smoke, cigarette smoke, burned food smoke, anything at all that fills the air with particles. Invite a bunch of smokers over. Pass out cigars.

LOL. Try to roll up a tissue paper, wet it a little bit, light up one end, blow out the flame, and let the amber grows, that creates lots of smoke, stinks up the house pretty bad too :)
