My batteries do that too... once the door is closed it doesn't really matter so I don't worry about it. I remember there being a thread about it before somewhere.

problem is I can't get the door closed! haha the white clip springs off as soon as I press the battery down, so it doesn't give me that split second I need to close the door

Try pointing the camera down. Even if it pops out the battery still can get pushed in when I close the door, at least it does with my BG-E2.

I had to put a few layers of masking tape on the small corner of the left battery to get it to hold down for the split second i needed to close the door.

I have the BG-E2N and don't have any problems. I got the batteries about 8 months ago .
