Re: Alcatraz, do they start running the boats earlier for Fleet Week days so folks can get out there and pick a spot or do they keep to the regular schedule?

Thanks. As far as the ferries go, they keep a regular schedule, so if you go in 2009, make your reservation online in advance. When I arrived at the pier on Saturday, most of the tours were sold out for the weekend. My advice would be to go early and enjoy touring the island before catching the airshow in the afternoon. Once you are on the island, you can return on any boat you choose.
