My mom wants a DSLR. There is a catch.

The catch is that she wont let me buy it for her and she only wants to spend around 200 bucks. I tried to talk her into getting am XSI or a used 30D but her reasoning is that she liked her old camera (kodak Z710) but wants something that will take the photo the second she pushes the button unlike the 1 sec delay the kodak had. I was thinking about a used 10D or digital rebel. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Don't get a 10D.

Get at least a 20D.

What dSLR (even used) are you gonna get for $200? You need a lens too btw. A kit lens won't do her much good unless she only ever plans on using the camera in daylight.

Im thinking of just buying her a 40D with the 28-135 for christmas and maybe a nifty 50 or 100-300.
