I have had my AB's for a week now. Still playing with them and learning the differences between them and my continuous lights. LOVE the AB's by the way! These are my 4 children. Ages 4,3,2 and 4 months. (and for those of you wondering why my 4 month old is not in the group shot) Its because they have a different father than my 4 month old and he requested a group shot of them together and I dont think he would really care for a baby that wasnt his to be in there haha) C&C welcome as always. And...I am aware you can see smudge prints on my plexi in the first shot lol. I will take care of that soon.

Nice, I don't know that your son's expression in his portrait looks natural, he is still very cute though, and not knowing him, I don't know what his natural look is. And I would have loved to have seen the adorable littlest girl (in the pink) looking directly at the camera in her portrait. The little baby looks really sharp in #2 but slightly soft in #1 and #3 but still nice pics. I like the plexi!

That is definately my son's natural smile when he is excited or really happy. I had just got through telling him he could get a new transformer (he loves bumblebee). Im lucky to get my youngest one looking at the camera EVER. She is awful when it comes to getting her pictures made. She is in her terrible 2's and doesnt listen worth a crap right now lol. and thank you for the comment ;)

Thank you. I have an AB 800 pointed at the BG and I have another AB on my subject/s with a reflector on the other side.

Great set of photos. I was going to ask the same about the lights but somneone beat me to it. Thanks for sharing your setup. I have a hard time getting my background copletely white but I will point my 800 toward it next time and see what I get . Again great looking shots.

thank you. Another thing i do, is make sure i set my subjects at least 4 feet or more away from the background. I roll it out really long so that the light doesnt spill onto them. thats the biggest thing im battling right now due to lack of space lol. but...im getting the hang of it slowly but surely.

how big is your plexi-glass and where can you get a piece?

I cant think for sure how big the piece is, but you can purchase it as places like Home Depot and probably Lowes. If you are shooting with a white background, the best thing to get for them to sit or stand on is actually a big slab of tile board. you can get it from Lowes and it is not too terribly expensive. It gives a good reflection and shadow. You can also put plexi glass on top of the tile board to give off a little reflection if desired.

Got a 36x48 piece of plexiglass at Home Depot for around $22!
Gave it a quick run last night, but wasn't getting much reflection using a white backdrop. Didn't have much time experiment with lighting though.

Make sure you are standing back from the subject a bit and try to put a light onto your background
