With $8,000 to win, and 61 cars entered, it was gonna be a great night of racing, and the A-Main was so electric, that I couldn't get to sleep for hours afterwards. Lots of cars meant lots of heats and B-Mains, and a chance to try a few things to see if I could do something a tad different then anyone else on the infield with a camera.

Track owner Glenn Styres brought in a ringer to try and stop two-time and defending champ Steve "Fireball" Poirer from three peating, and Wayne Johnson did the job in the 94j car.

I honestly don't know what I am gonna do with myself on Friday nights until next May??

Thanks.

Here is a couple more. Jim Price with a bent front wing and Michigan's Dustin Daggett, who came within 6 laps of winning the National.

camera/lens used?

40D and a Sigma 70-200mm F 2.8.

Take a look at the Ohsweken Shootout thread, thats a thread about vision and not about gear, cause too many think the camera does all the work, but a member here taught me to see what I wanted, before I ever put the camera to my eye.

Hi Gary,

Great shots again, although I wanted to be there again, I couldn't risk a rain out again. Next Feb i'm off to Florida for 14 days of dirt & pavement oval stuff and possibly the Daytona 500.

Thanks Dave

There actually was a really list mist falling for most of the night on Saturday, that caused them to forego driver intros, as they used intermission to pack the track, and it actually made the track better, and faster. It was a rough year to run a dirt oval in Ontario, thats for sure.
