This is my first week with the 300d SLR and it is my first real camera. Wanted to get some feedback. the only other experience I have with Photography was with a Kodak Easy Share 3.0...

Let me know what you think...

nice... the only comment I would make is you might want to tilt / crop the horizons straight. Its really off putting when you can see it out just a tiny bit.

You could try boosting the contrast slightly on the first image. That will make the Sunbeams(crepuscular rays) stand out more. Don't go so far as to loose shore detail though. Nice shots anyway.......

QUESTION...

I am using photo shop and I have had no problem straightening images before...This time I am getting a choppy horizon when I rotate it...what can I do in that case??

I think you will find if you were to print out the pics at 300dpi they will be OK , the jagged horizon is due to the low resolution of the monitor screen.

It was actually due to my stupidity...as soon as I okayed the move the horizon was no longer jagged...chalk one up in the SMRT column for the Rookie...

other than the tilt I really like both...especially the composition of # 1

I agree, try to make sure the horizons are straight. Nice shots though.
