Hey all,
My trusty Canon A80 died a while back and I just picked up a Canon A700. The thing I liked about the A80 was the setting for capturing fast moving objects (like my three sons) - the little running man icon thing. I would always just switch to that setting when I was photographing them out and about.
But the A700 expects me to know more what I am doing. There are TV (shutter priority) and AV (aperture priority) settings... of which I know nothing...but no running man icon. I have tried to get understanding from the manual but it is, well, like reading a technical manual. It assumes you already understand all this.
I was guessing that if I increased shutter speed it would help me capture more fast moving subjects. But any time I tried to speed up the shutter speed, my picture would just be completely BLACK. Nothing. You could tell it was taking a picture and saved one, but it was like it was not taking ANY light in.
I have no idea what I am doing here, so can anyone help out a newbie?!
On the a700, how in the world to a adjust the settings to take pictures of fast moving subjects without the resulting picture just being completely dark?!
Because I didn't know what I was doing, I got absolutely ZERO good pics of my son and his friend at the local skate park, which was a real shame.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
Sean
