I definitely need to pick up a focal reducer for my Equinox 80ED f/6.3. I have been recommended to get one of the 2 William Optics reducers. Does anyone know the difference between the William Optics SCT 0.8x Reducer/Field Flattener II and the William Optics SCT 0.8x Reducer/Field Flattener III?

Are there any others you would recommend.

The difference looks to be about $110. Just kidding, as far as I can see the difference is that the model III was designed for larger aperture scopes, all the way up to 110mm. Model II was designed for the 66mm range but "can" work with the 80 and 90mm. This is one of those calls I would defer to the experts. I'd call OPT(Oceanside Photo and Telescope) and ask for someone like Chris H. He's an outstanding astrophotographer and could likely give you an idea if the model II is worth the extra money for your use.

I use the FR/Flatteners that Takahashi designs for their optics. They ain't cheap but they rock.
