So there I was, shooting my car for the millionth time (pics coming shortly) and thinking about trying some panning. From just down the road I hear the sound of eight loud, angry, cylinders coming off a narrow bridge into a 50mph zone. Camera up, and snap.

I was off the road, on the far side of my car.

Anyway, here's the shot :D

C&C? I think it's a bit overexposed, but I didn't have much time to change settings haha.

Hey there's some! :p

1/80 sec exposure, ISO 80, F/8 aperture.

Couldn't really go much longer with the exposure for fear of it being too bright.

Point taken, though ;)

Sure you could, f16 with a 1/40 shutter speed. :)

Where do you live? I see some color in the trees already. :)

Northern Vermont, quite a bit of color up here now :)

I shoot with a Powershot A720IS, F/8 is as high as it goes :(

1/80 sec exposure, ISO 80, F/8 aperture. That would work, but you need to get a lot closer. If the Powershot hasn't got AI Focus, then try manual focusing on a spot on the road & shoot when the (nice ride!) get's there.

Yes, I was far from being in the right place when the opportunity arose. (My car was parked 10-15 feet off the road, and I was on the opposite side of it... I had to crop my hood out ;) )

What do you mean by AI focus? Whatever's going on that makes it focused at the 1/4 panel but not front?

What do you mean by AI focus? It's a selectable feature on the higher end cameras. Whatever's going on that makes it focused at the 1/4 panel but not front? At that distance at f/8, everything would be in focus, so it's probably shutter/motion blur.
