I wanted to pick up a black backdrop and lighting for doing some body scapes but I only have around 400$. (Might sell my 10-22 for extra money if I have to)
I was wondering if you knew any places I could pick up both of these for that price and or what you would recommend getting?
I was thinking muslin backdrop and for lighting Im not sure if I should just get a flash for my xti or off camera...
I was looking on Amazon at the kits they have but wasnt sure if they were cheap junk. Good prices... but that can mean crap.
Thanks for your help... Im new to studio lighting.

A black sheet would work just fine for the work you described.

2-shoe mount flash units - $200
Impact 2 light stand - 2 umbrella package at B&H - $100
Ebay trigger and two receivers &70 (not sure on the exact price)

Add in a couple of DIY snoots and grids and your in business for right around $300. If you have a little extra cash you could get the AB triggers which would be a step up in reliability.
