What is a good focal length for landscapes on a fullframe?
Do you think 20mm is wide enough for foreground interest?. Must be prime.
Thanks POTN

On film, 24mm and 35mm are perfect for me, and 50mm is pleasant for more tight stuff.

yep, the old 24 and 35 combo.
use the 24 when you want to enhance the perspective.
and use the 35 for the perfectly framed shots. i usually do alot of foot zooming with it but its worth it.

Yea I was planning on the good old 35mm.
But I am sort of worried that it may not be wide enough for foreground interest. Never thought how difficult judging focal length is, with primes...

it is difficult to judge, see if you can borrow/rent/test out a couple of lenses.
try a 28mm maybe. canon make a nice 28mm 1.8. its very compact and fast.
it gives a good sense of foreground interest but not a huge overdone perspective.
i quite like the 28mm field of view.

Mediation has a D700 so Canon lenses are a bit troublesome for him. ;)
Mediation, what primes are there for the Nikon (I mean Nikon lenses, not Sigma etc.)?
