Here is my try at Quad Motocross. Please let me know what I could do better. Would it be better if I were more head on?

I like the 2nd shot... 3/4 shots generally work better for motorsports IMO.

Your off to a good start with your Quad motorcross photos, the second image is the best, try varying your position and camera angle and take plenty of photos. I have attached two of my own quad photo's taken on a 300D and a 100-400 L IS lens

Thanks for the additional shots. I took my shots from the stands as I did not no if I could get on the track or not. If I go next year I will see if it is possible to get on the track from a good angle and get all kinds of shots. Will also hand out some business cards and get the shots up on the WWW site to get some possible prints.

Anyone else please post your shots and keep this thread going.

If you would like to see more look HERE (http://www.air.on.ca/cbjaps/jtphotographic/proofs.htm) under MotoX. You will find both quads and bikes mixed...

I like them and like how the background is not distracting (something I need to work on).

Some great images above, its such a colourful sport.

The weston beach race is an annual event . about 500 bikes in a mass start is incredibly impressive, a 1mile straight along the beach then a series of man made 20 ft high tumps etc . and 2hrs endurance.
quads and sidecars on the saturday and solo's on the sunday.

a couple more from weston.

Thanks Jeff, for the compliments. some great stuff on your own site, well done.

Quadphoto is a good mate so we both covered the weston beach races together and came back with hundreds of good shots,
I think Quadphoto's panoramic shot is vary different for this type of action photography, & so works really well.
Cheers

Im an ATV racer myself. Very nice pictures you have and the 5th one down looks like the end of the world. I would never want to race in anything like that ever. haha. Tip on the motorcross pictures is taking pictures when the quads are rippin' through the corners. I love thoes pictures. Also not saying that you dont but just other suggestions for further pictures are try and find unique angles to shoot from. Taking shots from unique angles will really stand out. Looking very good and keep them up.
