I will need to read up the full background again and will advise whether there was a Templar connection and yes the Saints name is ultimately key IMO.

Edit - I have yet to find any Templar connection

Edit - re architecture ~ it has had various periods of change and rebuilding???

:lol: My guess is that this was built before he was cannonized. Of course, it could be a later addition or I could be completely wrong, because I know next to zilch about catholic saints except the rubber one my friend had me bury upside-down in the garden when I was selling my house.

It origins are Saxon and has had many additions and extensions/changes all the way through to the 15th C
