Trying my hand at the urban thing... not something I normally do, but something I've got a bit of an interest in, I guess.

Melbourne has too much of a small-town atmosphere to make street shooting something I can pick up accidentally. I'm really going to have to develop my senses for this sort of thing.

i tried this a while back, and it definitely isn't easy in melbourne. (only touched my camera again recently after a year). maybe for me though, melb just doesn't have the same edgy environment that i like seeing in street photography, ala new york.

this is a nice shot though. heh, i used to relax on that grass, and enjoy the sun every lunch hour many moons ago

yeah... it's not really a street shooter's haven :)

I've seen some good work done in melbourne, but it's usually fairly tight perspectives which mask the rather suburban feel even the CBD has.
