So I basically just found my Canon Powershot S5IS last night while looking for something else. I never really used it because I ended up getting a Canon 40D a few months later. Anyways, Now that I actually have it and want to use it(for business trips and such), I just have a few Q's because I can't find my manual:
-Can it shoot RAW?
-Whats with the removable ring?(Does it have a purpose?)
-If the new powershot ever comes to America, will that be worth the upgrade or just stick with this?
Thanks.

So I'm guessing this remvoable ring is for the lenses you can attached on to it? If so that's pretty neat...(sorry im a newb haha).

Not for "lenses", but for an adapter with the option to add "converters" / "conversion lenses" or filters. Have a look at this link (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/S2.html) to get a clue...
