Opinions? Thoughts on the lighting especially appreciated. These were all taken in an unlit room at night, using only a 420EX and various reflectors.

#2 and #3 are Fantastic. #1 the lighting is a little harsh and shows the bags under his eyes which subtract from his beautiful eyes that could easily be the focus of that picture. nothing a little photoshop couldnt fix.
#4 I think there is too much shadow on the left side of her face is my only thing there. The look on her face captures a lot, but the shadow from her hair covering her eye takes away from it.
Overall I think these are great shots, and the blackness in the background really add to the pics instead of subtract from them. :)

Daniel, These look pretty good. I especially like #1 & #3. None of the light appears to be direct, but rather, all bounced and or diffused, which is always better IMHO. Nice work, keep it up. :D

#3 really nice...correct light in shining eyes, good DOF..it's a bit different from a classic kid portrait

Thanks for all the comments. ...much appreciated. I was planning to try some more tonight with different reflective colors (less gold and more silver), but ended up putting together a new dining room table for the wife's V-Day gift... now, I don't know that my back will allow me to even pickup my camera! OUch! Anyway, thanks. Any further comments/suggestions welcomed.
