Falls somewhere between HDR, normal exposure and oil painting. I like it, though. Taken from Scales Fell on the way down from the summit of Blencathra in the Lake District.

I like it too. A little dark, but still nice.

Thank you :)
It was a little too cheerful when the histogram was as it should be. I like to think that HDR should be an interim step to smoothing out exposure details, rather than a guideline to how a finished picture should look, if you see what I mean. I see it as a means to an end, rather than an end in itself.

Was it actually raining out there? Looks like it might be.
I'm finding that HDR is as you find it. I don't think any two can be quite alike when all depends on colors and lighting in the original. Sure makes for interesting images. :)

As it happens, it was neither windy or raining (unlike other occasions when I've been up Blencathra). It was simply miserable: a weather phenonemon which, although not unique to the Lake District, can certainly be found there with alarming frequency (which is always irritating after a 70 mile drive).
Cheers both :)

I love this shot!! It has a lot of feeling to it and makes me feel like I'm there.
I got married in the Lake district a couple of months ago... Luckily It was a nice Sunny day but we had many days like this picture before and after.

Great shot. I think the darkness of the image adds to the mood of it. I like it.
I went to the Lakes district once as a child many years ago. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as nice as in this shot. ;)

its really cool... i think the darkness helps it as it lends a bit of forboding to it..

Thank you all..
I was back in the Lakes today, up Great Gable on a much sunnier day. Hopefully more to come later (although by the time I got up there, I was way too tired and cold to worry too much about the pictures I was taking, sadly).
