I am not in a chair but may be able to offer a suggestion or so....
If you had a device that clamped onto your chair that was semi-rigid, you would have the equivalent of a tripod with you all the time. I am think about something like metal electrical flex conduit with something in it (maybe wire) that would make it semi rigid. The top would have an adjustable ball mount.
Hope I helped.

There at least 2 members here who shoot from chairs, possibly more.
It doesn't seem to slow them down, and the only way you know they shoot from a chair is if they post a self portrait, or mention it somewhere.

I'm bumping this thread because I'm hoping that someone might have some fresh ideas on the subject. i have nearly no strength in my arms and am trying to assemble a rig which would hold my camera in front of me when I'm in the wheelchair.
I have a Bogen super clamp and am going to try using a Bogen variable arm, and a QR mount. I don't think my camera and lens will exceed the weight limit of this setup. Any input, comments, or alternate suggestions?

Yeah, that's the setup I'm going to try... I already have a Bogen Super Clamp. Thanks Chauncey.
