Fist, let me say I’m not exactly sure where to post this thread as there doesn't seem to be a forum for construction photos. This forum looked like the best fit to me. Moderators, relocate this post if necessary.

Below are some photos of a railroad bridge project I worked on and is currently in construction on the campus of Michigan State University. The project is converting two existing at grade road/railroad crossing to road underpasses with the railroad tracks on a new bridges. I though the railroad guys out there might be interested in some of the train pics I had from the construction site.

The way train traffic was maintained during construction was pretty straight forward. For this project, because we had the room and property, we used temporary railroad tracks, which the railroad guys on the project refer to as "shoo fly" tracks. The tracks basically by-pass the site where the excavation for the bridge is occurring. And right at the new bridge the train tracks are supported by a massive steel wall.

Well enough with the explanations, here are some photos of the temporary track construction and some shots of a train running past the site.
