This is nine raw files set one ev apart merged in Photomatix then converted to b&w in cs3. It really pulled in the detail from the distant signs that a normal shot didnt capture at the same time getting some great up close detail under low light conditions.

I love the black and white version! What was it like standing behind all of that horsepower?

It was loud and the rubber and bleach smoke will make your eyes water, and its hard to breathe. But they are incredibly powerful.

OK one more time. This one is lightened up significantly. Hopefully you can see it now.

It's more a lack of contrast that's the problem...

Too dark for my taste, would look good if it was brighter

I give up. Guess I saw something nobody else does.

Thanks for the comment. I cranked up the contrast and it does look much better.

Sorry, but I don't think this really works. It looks like a seriously underexposed image with a rescue attempt made on it.

It still looks more like a tintype than a HDR. There is no range to begin with, no less a dynamic one, or even a highly dynamic one.
It does have an interesting look to it. Its so dark but has all the detail.

I like the idea of the shot. Perhaps a lower perspective would have added to the shot and maybe a tighter point of view (crop). If you had shot this right at sunset I think it would have worked a little better. keep it up!

The leaders always do see things that no one else sees. If you really do then keep looking and educate us.

I like it. I think it would look great in a gearheads game room.

Thats water, not bleach. And what made your eyes burn were the nitro fumes.
I believe that with a better exposed photo, you might have gotten your desired results. I am still baffled as to what some people think HDR is also.

Here is an HDRI of a burnout I took a while back, it's been tone mapped also. From what I understand this is not a true HDR image because it was not bracet shot. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think an HDRI is where you take brackets shots at different exposures and combine them together into one image. In my HDRI I took one shot in Raw and adjusted the exposure compensation up and down and combined them with the original exposure to make this image(total of 3 different exposures). I also got a little crazy on some of the settings in Photmatix to weird it out but I like it!
